Deborah Ellen is a positive, supportive and creative vocal instructor. I wanted to enhance my training as a Voice Over artist. Deb succeeded at applying the technique of Speech Level Singing to my unique needs. Deborah’s commitment to my growth helped me to discover how to apply the tools that generate a true and natural expression of my speaking voice. Deborah’s musical spirit, awesome sense of humor and playfulness make me look forward to every lesson. I have grown equally as passionate about singing, as I am about speaking.

Deborah has done a wonder for my voice. In just a few lessons she taught me a number of valuable techniques that I can use every day. So far she helped me to expand my range without straining as well as giving me confidence and belief in myself to reach my full potential. I thank her so much. She is an amazing teacher and I highly recommend her!

Finding Deborah was the luckiest thing that could have happened. I never dreamed of having such a warm, amazing and talented teacher. She loves what she does, and it shows. I have had the most pleasurable learning experiences possible, and am very thankful for the time I get to spend with her. She has taught me so much, and I have grown in many ways that I never thought possible. Thanks Deborah!

Deborah Ellen’s passion for music, singing, and life shines through in her teaching. After only studying with Deborah for four months, I feel much more confident in my voice as a musical instrument and in talking. She builds an environment of safety, welcoming the “real me” out in my voice. She is a one of a kind teacher with a wonderful sense of humor. Don’t miss out on a chance for your voice to grow in expected and unexpected ways!

A pleasure to work with. Deborah makes you a better singer almost immediately! I can’t tell that I’m getting better, but people are starting to tell me that I’ve got a great voice. That’s never happened before…

Before working with Deborah, I was completely self conscious about my vocal instrument. Having never really studied technique before, I had no idea how to properly use my craft and was therefore singing disconnectedly and to the least of my ability. At first, I was nervous to begin studying vocal technique, but right from the very first lesson, Deb welcomed me with professionalism, expert advice and most importantly, a caring sensitivity. After only a few short months, I already feel more confident when I sing and have learned invaluable tools that will not only help me evolve and advance as a vocalist but will also, in general, help me grow as a creative person. I can’t thank Deborah enough!

well! i’m done now but ill miss her… who you ask? my new/old singing teacher. i went to her for about three weeks, two lessons a week, and i learned so much! her name is deborah ellen … she teaches a method called “speech level singing” where you learn to have power and emotion without too much volume, for volume causes tension and so it doesn’t sound too good. she teaches how to really make the song blow away whoever you’re singing to and be able to do it every night for a week and not hurt your voice. SHE IS WONDERFUL! i would recommend her to any person that wanted a quality singing teacher.

Deborah is a very capable voice teacher. She knows exactly what she’s doing, what you want to achieve as a singer, and how to get you there, each time successfully. Thanks to her lessons, singing is becoming for me more and more as easy as speaking (and I’ve only had a few lessons), and it’s giving me immense pleasure. Her technique is wonderful, and I only wish I had known of it many years ago, and not wasted time with teachers who often were only groping when they were confronted with some voice problems that they didn’t know how to deal with.

Deborah’s teaching is just vibrant, so full of life and spirit! Her focus, knowledge, presence, and joy of teaching, coupled with Seth Riggs’ Speech Level Singing technique, is a virtuous combination. Right away, she helped me to develop the “mix”, and I have not had to deal with any vocal soreness at all since starting lessons with her. I have been truly blessed to find such a teacher, and the results never cease to amaze me! All credit goes to Deborah and the Seth Riggs Speech Level Singing technique.

I was fortunate enough to be referred to Deborah Ellen a little over a year ago, and I am very happy with the progress I have made since then. Deborah is a gifted teacher who has helped me to find my lost confidence, regain my vocal range, and discover the ease of singing. She has a wonderful way with words that allows her to easily convey the Speech-Level Singing Technique. Her experience as a songwriter adds to her value as a teacher, and she is more than willing to work on songwriting as well as vocal technique. Not only is Deborah patient and knowledgeable, but she is also a wonderful mentor who makes lessons so much fun! It is a joy working with her, and I find myself looking forward to my lesson every week.
