Mr. Blue Oven MittHello everyone! Thank you for coming to visit us! We are very excited to introduce you to Mr. Blue Oven Mitt. He’s been an incredible source of joy for my daughter and I hope he will bring an endless supply of smiles to your day as well.

Mr. Blue Oven Mitt’s creation was a great surprise to all of us. My husband and I were in the kitchen using a blue oven mitt when my daughter asked what it was. Out of nowhere came the words ‘Mr. Blue Oven Mitt.’ And so he was born. He has joined us for many of our meals, helped us avoid a countless number of the challenging 2 year old moments, and has even made appearances at birthday parties and other events. This album is a day in the life of Mr. Blue Oven Mitt and Miss Debbie. We hope you enjoy getting to know them. So… put on your listening ears and have a great time!

Review by Allison Villareal at www.bookieboo.com

“When Leah asked if someone would like to review a CD called Mr. Blue Oven Mitt by Deborah Ellen I jumped at the chance. I’ll be honest I was a little skeptical about how entertaining a blue oven mitt could be but how often do you come across children songs that both you and your children will love? Especially when your kids have decided they like a song and want to hear it or sing it twenty times a day.

I was pleasantly surprised when I popped in my Mr. Blue Oven Mitt CD and not only did my kids start dancing right away, I found myself singing along. At times I even burst out laughing because the lyrics were so cute. Deborah Ellen’s songs really get you energized and lift your spirits and when Mr. Blue Oven Mitt chimed in my kids loved it. It reminded them of how I read to them at night and give each of the characters funny voices.

My favorite song is Puca Chaca. If you are wondering what a Puca Chaca is then get over to Deborah Ellen’s site and purchase the Mr. Blue Oven Mitt CD for yourself…”

“Miss Debbie and her sidekick, Mr. Blue Oven Mitt, will bring their musical children’s show to a series of concerts at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center.

The duo will perform their first show of the year at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center at 11 a.m. Saturday. The concert will benefit Simi Valley Hospital’s Child Development Center.

“I approached the Child Development Center for participation in the benefit concert because I like what their program has to offer,” said Deborah Ellen of Simi Valley, who performs as Miss Debbie with Mr. Blue Oven Mitt in a show she originally created to entertain her young daughter.

“As a parent of a daughter who has benefitted from the program, I can attest to the importance of the type of intervention and support provided,” said Michelle Foster, director of marketing and communication at the Simi Valley Hospital. “The center is so thankful for Deborah’s willingness to help support their program.”"

“A professional vocal teacher with her own production studio, PerfecTunes Productions, Ellen combined her background in singing with creativity learned from motherhood to promote a new children’s favorite, Mr. Blue Oven Mitt.

“We have a blue oven mitt in the kitchen and when my eldest daughter, Morgan, was a toddler we would entertain her by making puppet shows with it while cooking,” Ellen said.

What started off as fun and games soon became show business. Ellen performs with Mr. Blue Oven Mitt as Miss Debbie regularly and released an album this year.”

“Not many folks have an oven mitt for a friend.

Deborah Ellen does.

Ellen and her puppet pal are part of an interactive show the youthful 41-year-old created two years ago.

The idea for her act came to her while in the kitchen of her Simi Valley home with husband, Michael Guttman, and daughter Morgan, now 5.

“We were cooking with a blue pot holder and my daughter asked ‘Who’s that?’ I told her it was Mr. Blue Oven Mitt and we started using it as a puppet.”

With that, a star was born. The mother of two began writing children’s songs for an album based upon the life of the oven mitt.”
